Sarah Lu has two doggies, but she gives her very special attention to Wesley, and calls him "wo de gou gou", (my dog). It's very sweet. Wesley is the perfect dog for her, he is so gentle and careful of her (and protective). Wesley is our "Pooh Bear". He's a bit round and "tubby", always hungry, but very sweet, and loves to cuddle up right next to you. Lilly, Sarah Lu's other puppy, is more of a "Tigger", I don't think I've successfully gotten a picture of the two of them together yet, between Sarah and Lilly, one of them is bound to be moving!
Piglet and "Pooh"Getting a kiss from Wesley

Sarah loves to help feed Wesley, she will run and grab his dish and tell us that her dog needs to eat now, she will "help" him by holding his dish and petting him throughout it all. When he's finished she looks at him in the cutest way, shows him her hands and says, "all gone." She then runs and puts his dish back. She loves her "job" and takes it very seriously. She is also very insistent about letting me know when the dogs need to go "niao niao" (pee) and will hand me their leashes.

Sweet kisses from Sarah Lu!
Sarah with "big" Wesley and "baby wesley", her stuffed black lab toy. She adores her baby wesley toy and calls it "baby wesley!"

Having baby wesley help Baba play the flute!

Sarah has found a new use for the many headbands we bought her, they make great collars for her stuffed animals! I still can't convince her to actually wear a headband or bow in her hair yet.

So happy to have her Rachael back!

Hanging out in Rach's dorm room.

Singing with her princess wand from Laura!

This last Monday we helped Rachael move back into her dorm room at TIU. Rachael is one of Sarah Lu's absolute favorite people, so it was a bit hard on her. Yesterday, we spent the day with her on campus. Sarah loved having her oldest jie jie back and Rachael loved showing off her mei mei! One of Sarah Lu's new friends had a princess wand for her! She absolutely adores it and uses it as a microphone. She spent a while entertaining us with performances she must have learned at the orphanage. I even caught a little of it on tape!

The Zoo
Sarah Lu loved the zoo! She loved seeing the animals and the lights! (It was the zoo's annual holiday lights festival). She would point at all the lights and say, "look, look!" Are you ready to go see some animals, Sarah? The first animal we saw, a tiger, it came right up to the glass, which was so cool!
In the big cat's house.
The lions.
Sarah loved these littles guys best!
She called them mousies and kept saying "hi mousie!" It was so cute!
Look, there's two turtles!
Sarah Lu, looking cute, with a pair of her squeaky shoes on! She got so much attention with those! People were commenting everywhere! Another adoptive family passed by us in one of the exhibits and yelled out "Squeaky shoes from Guangzhou, China!" :)
Aww, the cavy's so cute!

We saw a bunny "tu". If you can't see it click on the image to enlarge. On the way to the zoo Sarah Lu said she really wanted to see a tu (tu is mandarin for bunny), we almost didn't, until we noticed this one hopping around! Sarah was happy to see her tu!
In front of lots of pretty lights! (but, you can't see them too well in the picture)
Look at all those monkeys!
See the chimp...
The sleeping chimp.
This way Mama!
Wow!
A fun little cave to run through!
Lets go see more Mama!

Look at those Zebras!
Our cute girl, taking a quick break on the bench.
Sarah Lu enjoying cheese fries and her first (?) hotdog before leaving the zoo.

We went to try to see the wolves before we left, but we could not find them, they were not awake and they have a large wooded enclosure, so they were no where to be found. Sarah started clapping her hands and calling for the "gou gous", we told her we would have to come by later to see them, since they had already gone to bed. So, I started talking again, and Sarah Lu runs up to me and puts her finger to her lips and goes, "shhh...the gou gous are sleeeping!"
It was so adorable! As we were walking out Sarah named of all the animals we had seen and said goodbye to each one. How sweet!
We had a great time! I am sure there will be many more zoo trips to come!
