This picture was taken December 2005, while Sarah Lu was still in China. Her first two Christmas's were spent alone and waiting as an orphan.
Now, she is home and she has her forever family.
"Merry Christmas" by Third DayNow, she is home and she has her forever family.
There's a little girl trembling on a cold December morn
Crying for mama's arms
At an orphanage just outside a little China town
Where the forgotten are
But half a world away I hang the stockings by the fire
And dream about the day when I can finally call you mine
It's Christmas time again but you're not home
Your family is here and yet you're somewhere else alone
So tonight I pray that God will come and hold you in His arms
And tell you from my heart I wish you Merry Christmas
As I hang the tinsel on the tree and watch the twinkling lights
I'm warmed by the fire's glow
Outside the children tumble in a wonderland of white
And make angels in the snow
But half a world away you try you best to fight the tears
And hope that Heaven's Angels come to carry you here
Christmas is the time we celebrate the Holy Child
And we celebrate His perfect gift of love
He came to Earth to give His life and prepare a place for us
So we could have a home with Him above
It's Christmas time again and now you're home
Your family is here so you will never be alone
So tonight before you go to sleep, I'll hold you in my arms
And tell you from my heart I'll tell you from my heart I wish you Merry Christmas
"All I Really Want For Christmas" by Steven Curtis Chapman
Well I don’t know if you remember me or not
I’m one of the kids they brought in from the home
I was the red-haired boy in an old green flannel shirt
You may not have seen me – I was standing off alone
I didn’t come and talk to you, ‘cause that’s never worked before
And you’ll prob’ly never see this letter anyway
But just in case there’s something you can do to help me out
I’ll ask you one more time
All I really want for Christmas
Is someone to tuck me in
A shoulder to cry on if I lose
Shoulders to ride on if I win
There’s so much I could ask for
But there’s just one thing I need
All I really want for Christmas is a family
Well I guess I should go ahead and tell you now
If it’s really true about that list you have
Somehow I always seem to end up in a fight
But I’m really trying hard not to be bad
But maybe if I had a brother or a dad to wrestle with
Well, maybe they could teach me how to get along
And from everything I’ve heard
Sounds like the greatest gift on earth would be a mom
All I really want for Christmas
Is someone to tuck me in
A shoulder to cry on if I lose
Shoulders to ride on if I win
There’s so much I could ask for
But there’s just one thing I need
All I really want for Christmas
Is someone who’ll be there
To sing me “Happy Birthday”
For the next 100 years
And it’s OK if they’re not perfect
Well, even if they’re a little broken,
that’s alright ‘Cause so am I
Well, I guess I should go
It’s almost time for bed
And maybe next time I write you
I’ll be at home
‘Cause all I really want for Christmas
Is someone to tuck me in
Tell me I’ll never be alone
Someone whose love will never end
Of all that I could ask for
Well, there’s just one thing I need
All I really want for Christmas
All I really want for Christmas is a family
Just a family
That’s all I really need
This Christmas, Let's remember the orphans, the children left behind.
There are 143 million orphans around the world today, just waiting...
What will you do about it?

Hey!! Merry Christmas Eve, to all of you!!!! You are so very welcome for the presents, Staci!!! Your email made me smile!! I'm so glad you both like them! I wasn't sure if Sarah Lu had that outfit or not so I was freaking out the whole time! And then right after I finished sealing the envelope I realized I forgot to put the gift receipt in the envelope! So if the clothes don't fit Sarah Lu I'll send you the receipt.
Have a Merry Christmas!

Y'all have a Merry Christmas!
That picture from Dec 2005 is SO precious! So much has changed since then. Happy 1 year of being home! We came home with Julie on Dec 22nd 2005...how neat that our dates line up! What phenomenal Christmas gifts our families have been given. Have a great day tomorrow!
I love both of those songs! They fit with Sarah's story better than our kids, I was thinking of putting the one by Third Day on a slideshow of the girls but they aren't from China :( Merry Christmas and I am so happy that we both have our siblings home this christmas!!
I just happen to stumble across your site... what a gorgeous little girl yep, I think she was your best gift. Will drop by again sometime... take care...
