Sarah and her "Di Di" in China, April 2006
Ever since Sarah first came home, she has talked of her friends in China. One little one was particularly on her heart- her "di di" little brother in Mandarin. I made this video back in April 07 about their story:
Sarah's pleas for her Di Di did not stop. She continued to talk about him all the time. One of the first things she said to us about him was a desperate "Daddy, Di Di is crying for you!" Later we were at a Chinese restaurant in August. When Sarah heard that the owner was leaving for China the next day she pleaded with him, "Are you going to bring my Di Di home?" Sarah was dedicated to getting her Di Di his very own Mommy and Daddy.
Just recently we have found out that Di Di has been placed with the most wonderful family, and they live only 45 minutes away from us!
On Tuesday we had the awesome opportunity to meet up with "Di Di's", soon to be Adam's, mommy and big brother, Neil! Neil is adopted from Korea and is 5 yrs old. He is SO cute and he and Sarah are now the best of friends! They had a blast playing together and when it was time to go, Neil asked his mom, "Is she coming with us?" (SO sweet!) Sarah loves her friend Neil and is so excited that Neil is now on his way to China to become a "Ge Ge" (big brother)!
They are in China now to bring home Adam "Di Di"!!!

Sarah and Neil

"This is gonna be SO much fun!"

"Here we go! Yay!!!!"

And here is an adorable video of Sarah and Neil riding the roller coaster just after meeting:

Notice the way Sarah is staring at him in admiration? ;-)

There's just something about that bow in her hair that makes the picture. ;)

The Best of Friends having such a fun time on the roller coaster ride!

In the play area...
They climbed

And ran... and went down the slide (see Sarah?)...

Cute stories from the play area:
While they were playing, there was this one little girl who wouldn't stop bothering Sarah. She just kept running up behind her, grabbing onto her, and hitting her. When this started happening, Sarah ran to Neil and hid behind him for protection. Then Neil told the naughty girl, "Hey! You can't do that! She's my girlfriend, not yours! And you can't play with her. She's MY girlfriend!"
For the entire time in the play area, they always had to be right next to each other and go down the slide together. Whenever Sarah didn't see where Neil was for just a second, she would scream out "NEIL!!!" and he would do the same for her. When he couldn't see her for a second and then she'd come back, he'd always say, "Sarah, where have you been?"

The Nascar was definitely a huge hit! And Neil was so cute driving Sarah around in it! Before it started, he told Sarah, "Hold on! I'm a pretty fast driver!"
"Wow Neil! You are a fast driver!" -Notice she's holding on? ;-)

And a video of their ride:

Isn't Sarah just precious with her "We're gonna win!" and "That's us!" pointing at their car. ;)

At one point, they decided to take different rides, but no worries- they were right next to each other!I thought it was so cute that Sarah picked a pink sparkly spaceship and Neil picked his all time favorite blue sports car! It was so cute!!
And back together again. Neil's a good driver.

And another video, they are just way too cute!!

Then they were back at the roller coaster- it looked like it was pretty fun! ;)
And one last video:

Aren't they just the cutest? Neil with his hands in the air on the roller coaster, and "I'm not scared!" and Sarah's little dance to the music while it's going.
They are so adorable and are such good little friends now! They had a hard time saying goodbye. But we'll be seeing Neil again soon, and Adam 'Di Di' too!

I cannot do everything, but still, I can do something.
And because I cannot do everything,
I will not refuse to do the something that I can do."

I know I posted about a little 5 year old boy about two months ago. I am happy to announce that he has found his family! Still, many children wait. I was amazed at the number of responses I got for the other little boy. I found a blog today that is advocating for another 5 year old little boy. It seems as though this little boy's file will be sent back soon. He is called "Howard" and is listed with the agency ASIA. His special need is Hep. B.
Below I have copied the orginal post from China, Baby!
" There is a little 5 year old boy named "Howard" on our agency's waiting list (ASIA). His file will soon be returned, so time is running out for this sweet little one! His special need is that he is HepB positive without active disease. He is described as follows:"He is very active, thin and tall. He loves to ride the seesaw and play outdoors. He is a curious child and likes to watch cartoons. He can clearly explain all of the characters and colors in the cartoons. He is a bright child and can draw on paper to his heart’s content. He is an energetic, active and cute young boy." This little one pulls on my heart and I feel such an urgency to advocate for him. He has such a sweetness in his face and yet very few have expressed interest in him. I have been praying that little Howard might find his family before his file is returned. Please, if anyone reading this is open to a little boy with this type of need - email Marci at MarciSK@Asiadopt.org or call 503-224-1860. I cannot say enough about Marci or ASIA as an agency, they are wonderful and you will love working with them!! Even if you're not in a position to adopt, will you help spread the word about Howard? Let's use this wonderful network we are all a part of - this big "internet family" - to bring these kids home!! "

I take a lot of pictures of Sarah Lu, so naturally she thinks it looks like fun, and I decided to give her a chance and try it out! I was really amazed at how careful she was. She listened to me and took very good care of my camera...she also got some good shots- especially for a 3 year old! She LOVED it and had a blast!!! She's our little photographer now!

This is gonna be a great picture!

Aww! SO cute!

Ok Lilly, hold still.

And my personal favorite of Sarah's photos- A self portrait!

After all that picture taking her bow fell out! (look at that hair- gorgeous!)

And she let me take a picture of her!

Then we took the bow that fell out and another one and put them on Lilly to take a few pictures!

Cute girl! She was so tolerant and looked absolutely adorable!
